Bachelor of Mass Media (B.M.M.)

Bachelor of Mass Media is an undergraduate Mass Communications Course dealing with communication mediums used by the masses. It includes newspapers, magazines, cinema films, radio, television, etc. The duration of the course is generally 3 years with 6 Semesters. In the 3, the students have to choose an area of specialization like Journalism and Advertising; these may vary from institute to institute. On-job training is also provided through internship in the 2 of this course. Apart from these, seminars, group discussions and field visits are frequently undertaken in the course of 3 years. Mass communication course curriculum covers a wide area, comprising of closely related fields of advertisement, communication and public relations.

Introduction

The B.M.M. course is the window of opportunity for those who want to mould their career mainly in the field of Journalism or Advertising. The course also emphasizes on personality development of all the students. The duration of this course is Three Years spread over six semesters. Students with minimum 45% marks, in first attempt, at H.S.C. std. only are eligible. Admissions are granted as per University of Mumbai Circular No. UG/279 of 2007 dated 16th June, 2007 and are subject to revision from time to time Examination pattern : Semesters. Two Examinations are conducted, one each at the end of every term.

Admission

Eligible candidates will be admitted directly by the college on merit as per the schedule given by University of Mumbai. Reservation of seats will be observed as per government rules.

Examination

Examination for Semester I, II, III and IV will be conducted by the College, on behalf of the University of Mumbai, at the end of each semester. Examination for the semester V and VI will be conducted by the university.
