Anti-Ragging & Discipline Committee

ANTI RAGGING POLICY
Shree L. R. Tiwari Degree College adheres to a” Zero- Tolerance policy” regard to ragging in agreement with rulings and instructions from the Supreme Court, UGC regulations, and State Government Instructions. Any council pupil who’s charged with ragging and proven shamefaced will face harsh discipline in agreement with the law.  Ragging has ruined innumerous innocent lives and careers. It’s now defined as an act that violates or is perceived to violate an individual pupil’s quality. Ragging is completely banned in the lot and anyone set up shamefaced of ragging and/ or helping ragging is liable to be penalized as it’s felonious offence. The council anti ragging commission ensures strict compliance on the forestallment of Ragging in the form.

Mission “To foster a nurturing educational terrain free from importunity, fear, and intimidation. We’re devoted to precluding and eradicating ragging in all its forms, promoting respect, empathy, and understanding among scholars. Through watchful monitoring, mindfulness juggernauts, and decisive conduct, we strive to produce a lot where every pupil feels safe, valued, and empowered to excel academically.”

Objects

  1. Prevention: To help incidents of ragging through strict alert, effective programs, and mindfulness programs.
  2. Mindfulness: To raise mindfulness among  scholars about the consequences of ragging and the  significance of  regardful gesture.
  3. Support: To give support and comforting to victims of ragging and take prompt action against the perpetrators.
  4. Education: To educate scholars about their rights and liabilities and the legal counter accusations of ragging.
  5. Community Engagement: To engage the entire council community, including scholars, faculty, and staff, in the collaborative trouble to help ragging.
  6. Regular Monitoring: To conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the lot terrain to insure a ragging-free atmosphere.

Anti-Ragging Policy
According to the UGC Regulation on Bridling the imminence of Ragging in Advanced Institutions, 2009, ragging constitutes one or further of any of the following acts:

  • Any conduct by any pupil or scholars whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other pupil.
  • Indulging in rumbustious or undisciplined conditioning by any pupil or scholars which causes or is likely to beget annoyance, difficulty, physical or cerebral detriment or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other pupil.
  • Asking any pupil to do any act which similar pupil won’t in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to negatively affect the constitution or psyche of similar fresher or any other pupil.
  • Any act by an elderly pupil that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic exertion of any other pupil or a fresher.
  • Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other pupil for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of scholars.
  • Any act of fiscal highway robbery or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other pupil by scholars.
  • Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing stag and lewd acts, gestures, causing fleshly  detriment or any other  peril to health or person;
  • Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public cuts which would also include inferring  demoralized pleasure, vicarious or  vicious  exhilaration from  laboriously or passively  sharing in the  confusion to fresher or any other pupil.
  • Any act of physical or internal abuse(including bullying and rejection) targeted at another pupil(fresher or else) on the ground of colour, race, religion,  estate,  race, gender(including transgender), sexual  exposure, appearance,  nation, indigenous origins, verbal identity, place of birth, place of  hearthstone or  profitable background.

Corrections / Punishments

According to the UGC Regulation on curbing the menace of Ragging in Advanced Educational Institutions, 2009, depending on the nature and staidness of the guilt established by the Anti- Ragging Squad, those set up shamefaced may be awarded one or further of the following corrections, like;

  • Warning, writing reason letter
  • Suspension from attending classes and academic boons.
  • Withholding / withdrawing education / fellowship and other benefits.
  • counting from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
  • Withholding results.
  • Counting from representing the institution in any indigenous, public or international match, event, youth festival, etc.
  • Suspension / deportation from the hostel.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Permanent removal from the institution for term ranging from one to four semesters.
  • Deportation from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.

Powers and Functions Anti ragging Committee

  • To uphold and act up with the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court and be vigilant on any acts amounting to ragging;
  • To publicize to all scholars and current directives and the conduct that can be taken against those indulging in ragging;
  • To consider the complaints entered from the scholars and conduct enquiry and submit report to the Anti- Ragging Committee along with discipline recommended for the malefactors;
  • Oversee the procedure of carrying undertaking from the scholars in agreement with the vittles;
  • Conduct shops against ragging menace and orient the scholars;
  • To give scholars the information pertaining to communicate address and telephone numbers of the person(s) linked to admit complaints torture calls;
  • To offer services of comforting and produce awareness to the scholars;
  • To take all necessary measures for prevention of Ragging inside the Lot.

Duties of Anti Ragging Committee
The Anti- Ragging Committee will be working under the monitoring of the Anti- Ragging Committee and will seek advice from the Committee. The functions of the Anti- Ragging Committee will be to keep a surveillance and stop the frequence of ragging if any, passing reported in the places of pupil congregations. The Committee will also educate the scholars at large by espousing various means about the menace of ragging and related corrections there too. A spectrum of positive underpinning exertion was espoused by the Anti- Ragging Committee for acquainting scholars and molding their personality for a better cause. They shall work in accordance and guidance of the Anti- Ragging Committee.

Discipline Committee

Introduction
The Discipline Committee of a college is a vital body responsible for maintaining a conducive and respectful environment within the campus. Comprising faculty members, administrators, and sometimes students, this committee oversees student conduct, ensuring adherence to the institution’s code of conduct and policies. It investigates disciplinary issues, conducts hearings, and imposes sanctions if rules are violated. The committee plays a crucial role in shaping a positive and respectful learning atmosphere, promoting integrity and ethical behavior among students.

Role and Functions:

    1. Enforcement of College Policies: The committee enforces the college’s rules and regulations, ensuring that students are aware of the standards expected of them.
    2. Investigation of Violations: When there are reports of misconduct or violations of the college’s code of conduct, the committee conducts thorough investigations to determine the facts of the case.
    3. Fair and Impartial Hearings: The committee conducts disciplinary hearings, providing a fair and impartial platform for students to present their side of the story.
    4. Imposing Sanctions: If a student is found guilty of misconduct, the committee imposes appropriate sanctions, which can range from warnings and fines to suspension or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
    5. Support and Guidance: While the committee is responsible for disciplinary actions, it also plays a role in guiding students, helping them understand the implications of their actions, and encouraging positive behavioral change.
    6. Educational Initiatives : The committee may organize workshops, seminars, or awareness campaigns to educate students about ethical behavior, respect, and the importance of adhering to the college’s rules.
