Eligibility Criteria for Admission to FYJC - Commerce/Science
Admission to the First Year of Junior College (FYJC) in Commerce or Science in Maharashtra requires meeting specific eligibility criteria and submitting the necessary documents. Eligibility Criteria:
- Students who have passed the SSC Examination conducted by the Divisional Board of Secondary Education in the State of Maharashtra are eligible for admission to FYJC (Commerce/Science).
- Students who have passed an examination from other state boards or boards considered equivalent to the SSC Examination of Maharashtra state (such as CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, NIOS, IB) are also eligible for admission to FYJC (Commerce/Science).
Document Requirements for Admission:
- Original School Leaving Certificate: The original School Leaving Certificate is a crucial document that becomes a permanent part of the college records. Students should retain sufficient photocopies for their personal records, as the original will not be returned, except in cases where admission is canceled before the end of the first term.
- Original SSC Mark Sheet: Students need to submit the original SSC Mark Sheet along with two attested photocopies. The original mark sheet will be returned to the student after approximately six months, so it’s advisable to keep additional photocopies for personal records.
- FYJC Online Registration Form: Students must fill out the FYJC online registration form (Part A and Part B) available at https://11thadmission.org.in/. This form is part of the centralized online admission process for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Area.
- College Admission Form: Candidates need to fill out the college admission form either online or offline, as per the instructions provided.
- Eligibility Certificate (For students from other state boards): If a candidate has passed their Grade 10 examination from a board other than the Maharashtra State Board or other recognized boards, they must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Board in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The following documents need to be submitted for procuring the Eligibility Certificate:
- Original School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate/Transcript with the counter signature from the respective state/board’s education department or appropriate education authority.
- Original Mark Sheet of Grade 10 Examination.
- Original Passing Certificate/Provisional Certificate.
- Original Migration Certificate.
- Report of Verification (for privately appeared candidates).

Additional Requirements for Foreign Candidates:
- Caste Certificate: Students belonging to reserved categories must submit a valid Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority, if applicable.
- Merit-Based Admission: Admission to FYJC is granted on a merit basis, and the allocation of seats follows the government’s reservation policy.
- Admission to Second Year of Junior College: Students are eligible for admission to the Second Year of Junior College (XII) in Commerce and Science
