RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Welcome to Shree L. R. Tiwari Degree College of Arts, Commerce & Science's 15-day certificate course
on research methodology, organized by our Internal Quality Assurance Cell in collaboration with our Research and Development Cell! Our course is designed to equip our students with the necessary skills to undertake research projects and contribute to the knowledge base in their field of study.
As per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, we recognize the need for a multidisciplinary approach to education. Our research methodology course is an essential part of the core curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. We firmly believe that incorporating this course will help our students develop critical thinking skills, which is crucial for success in any field.

Course Objectives
- To develop an understanding of research design and methodology: The course will equip students with a fundamental understanding of the various research designs and methodologies used in social science, science, and humanities research.
- To enhance critical thinking skills: Students will be encouraged to think critically about research problems, identify potential biases or limitations, and develop research questions that are both relevant and feasible.
- To learn data collection and analysis techniques: The course will cover various data collection techniques, such as surveys, interviews, and experiments, as well as data analysis techniques like descriptive statistics and regression analysis.
- To develop scientific writing and presentation skills: Students will learn how to write scientific research proposals, reports, and manuscripts, as well as how to present their research findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Ethical considerations in research: Students will learn about the ethical considerations involved in conducting research with human participants or animals, including informed consent, confidentiality, and minimizing harm. They will also learn about the responsible conduct of research and the importance of maintaining integrity in scientific research.
About our Resource Persons & Topics
With over four decades of experience in educational institutions, Dr. Vidya Naik has a deep understanding of Total Quality Management in education. Her passion for research in management, education, and social organizations spans 25 years, and she has successfully guided 30 doctoral- level research scholars. Her strengths include faculty development, program evaluation, impact assessment, and obtaining recognition from accrediting bodies. She offers consultancy services for data analysis and research document support.

Dr. Pramila Kudva is an experienced educational innovator and principal who has been working in the education sector for over three decades. She has held the position of principal at ICSE schools since 2004 and is currently serving as the principal of Pawar Public School Kandivali-West. Dr. Kudva is also a lecturer at B.Ed. colleges and has worked in the corporate sector in middle management roles. She has a Ph.D. in Education from Mumbai University and has been awarded an honorary D.Litt. from the University of South America. Dr. Kudva has authored two books on teaching and has published several academic and general publications.

Dr. Uttam Jadhav is an experienced educator with 11 years of teaching experience. Currently, Dr. Jadhav is working as Dean and HoD, and has designed and implemented an enhancing English language proficiency program. He has also designed the syllabus for various communication and professional skills development courses. Dr. Uttam Jadhav is a published author and researcher in the field of English literature and language. He has contributed to various national and international journals, conferences, and seminars. Dr. Jadhav’s research interests include gender studies, postcolonial literature, and active learning techniques.
Prof. Dr. Preeti Verma is a seasoned academician and researcher with expertise in the field of management and organizational behaviour. She is currently serving as Director at Adira: Center for Disability Management, Inclusion & Empowerment. With over two decades of teaching and research experience, Dr. Verma has made significant contributions to the academic world, particularly in the areas of leadership, human resource management, and organizational behaviour. Her academic excellence and contributions to the field of management have been recognized through various awards and accolades.

Dr. Umesh Bhadade is the Vice-Principal of Shree L. R. Tiwari College of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from SRTM University, Maharashtra, and has over 18 years of experience in teaching and research. Dr. Bhadade has authored several research papers in national and international conferences and journals. He is a recognized Ph.D. guide and has guided many research scholars in their doctoral research work.
Dr. Reni Francis is a renowned educator and the Principal of Pillai College of Education, one of the premier teacher education institutes in India. With over 25 years of experience in the field of education, Dr. Francis has made significant contributions to the development and advancement of teacher education in the country. She is a strong advocate of the use of technology in education and has been actively involved in several research projects and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education in India.

Dr. Pooja Birwatkar is an accomplished academician with a Ph.D. from Centre of Advanced Study in Education (CASE), Baroda, and postdoctoral research from Homi Bhabha Centre of Science Education. Dr. Pooja Birwatkar has been a twice gold medalist at master’s level. She has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relation and Personnel Management. Dr. Birwatkar has earned a junior research fellowship (JRF) from ICSSR and a scholarship from M.S University, Baroda, for her Ph.D. She has worked as a visiting scientist at HBCSE and as a consultant with Observer Research Foundation (ORF) Mumbai.

Dr. Naresh Sukhani is an Associate Professor at Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Management, one of the leading institutes for management education in Mumbai, India. She is an approved PG guide by Mumbai University and has completed her Ph.D. from IIT Bombay with a gold medal in her post- graduation. Dr. Arya has received several awards for her contributions to the field of education, including the Global Teachers Award 2020, the Innovation Ambassador by MHRD, and the Best Speaker Award at the World Congress organized by IISC, Bengaluru in 2017.
