Aims:
MA Education endeavors to:
- Promote academic excellence and strive to provide quality education. It aims at building a community of teachers and teacher educators possessing a sound theoretical base in the discipline of Education, an ability to analytically examine and evaluate the knowledge acquired and apply the same in their respective fields.
- Develop a research orientation among students, teachers, and teacher educators, train them in research methodology; develop skills for conducting and guiding research and facilitating the dissemination of research findings among the researchers in education.
- Train middle-level managers of education to effectively manage self and the educational institution in their charge.
- Reach out to other educational institutions in the areas of Teaching Technologies, Research Methodology in Social Sciences and Educational Management.
- Conduct and guide research in the field of Education.
Admission Eligibility
Any person who has passed the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Education or Bachelor of Education of this University or a degree of another University recognized as equivalent with minimum of 45% and 40% for reserved categories may be admitted to the Degree of Master of Arts in Education (M.A. in Ed.) after having fulfilled the requirements as laid down in the Ordinances and Regulations as prescribed in the course of studies for the Degree of Master of Education (M.A. in Ed.) Circular No. UG/476, dated 17th December, 2009 Ordinance No O.5885
