Library Activities

a) Reading Day : Reading books enhances your vocabulary, allowing you to travel through words, and many times motivates you to stand and start again through various motivational literatures. If we talk about books then, library is its integral part.

b) Librarian Day : The 12th of August is being celebrated as National Librarian’s Day in remembrance of Dr. S.R Ranganathan who has immense contribution in the field of Library and information science and known as the father of Library Science of India. Ranganathan was awarded Padma Shri for his valuable contributions to Library Science

C) Hindi Divas : Hindi Diwas is celebrated across the country at 14thof September every year to remember the historic occasion of the Hindi. It was started celebrating as a Hindi Diwas as Hindi written in Devnagari script was approved as an official language by the Constituent Assembly at 14thof September in the year 1949.

D) Vachan Prerna Diwas : This day is observed every year on 15th Octoberas it is the birth anniversary of our late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who strongly advocated ‘reading’ more as a necessity rather than just a mere hobby. Books not only inspire us, but they also provide knowledge.

E) Republic Day Online Quiz Competition : Republic Day 2023: Every year on 26 January Republic Day is observed across the country. Let us solve an interesting quiz based on history, etc. this interesting quiz to test your knowledge about Indian history and National heroes in freedom Fighters.

F) Shivjaynati Utsav : Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who we all know as the founder of the Hindavi Swaraj, has been a continuous source of inspiration to all the thousands of not only Maharashtraian people but also to those who are foreign. Chhatrapti Shivrai had sculpted an entire kingdom which was free form Mughal regime which was a huge challenge as the whole of India was rules by Mughals and other similar foreign invasions. His courage valor and gallantry is second to none and has kept on inspiring people over the years. His guerilla tactics and administrative methods have been adopted in the syllabus of some countries and are taught to history and military students. Visionary a great administrator, economist and a compassionate but fierce patriot who for his sheet love for country.

G) Marathi Rajbhasha Divas : Every year on February 27th, Maharashtra states in India mark Marathi Language Day. The state legislature has set rules for this day. The occasion marks the birthday of illustrious Marathi Senior Poet Kusumagraj. Kusumagraj has significantly influenced Maharashtra’s cultural landscape, and he has worked tirelessly to promote Marathi as a scientific language. The Maharashtra government decided to honour the mother tongue and Kusumagraj’s memory by declaring his birthday “Marathi Language Pride Day,” Obtainable as of January 21, 2013….

H) SHIVRAJY ABHISHEK SOHALA – 6TH JUNE : Shivrajyabhishek Sohala or Shivrajyabhishek Din is considered an auspicious occasion as it marks the historical coronation of the greatest Maratha king – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. On this day in 1674, Chhatrapati Shivaji became the king of the Maratha Empire. Hence, the day calls for a massive celebration for the people of Maharashtra, who greet each other with special messages and wishes.  The anniversary day of Shivaji’s coronation is marked as he was crowned in Raigad and began to rule the famous Maratha Empire. People also call the day Rajyabhishek Sohala.
